PUEBLO, Colo. - The Northern State soccer team opened the 2007 season with a 2-1 win over Colorado State - Pueblo Friday evening in Pueblo, Colo. The Wolves scored one goal in each half to go up 2-0 before CSU-Pueblo notched one goal to set the final score at 2-1.
Freshman
Maggie Fedor (Monticello, Minn.) sent the Wolves' first goal of the season into the net midway through the first half. She was assisted on the play by junior
Stephanie Connolly (Red Deer, Alberta). The two connected again in the second half, this time with Connolly ringing the goal and Fedor with the assist. CSU-Pueblo scored around the 70 minute mark of the game.
The win sets Northern's 2007 record at 1-0. They will continue play in Colorado with a Sunday matchup against Mesa State. The game will be played in Grand Junction, Colo. at 2:30 pm.
