MANKATO, Minn. - Northern State's wrestling team put up a fight against #3 Minnesota State Wednesday night in Mankato, Minn.  The Wolves led the Mavericks 13-11 halfway through the dual, but MSU rallied in the late matches to pull off a 33-13 win.  The Wolves are 2-2 in duals this season, while the Mavericks picked up a win in their first dual of the year.

Donnie Bowden gave the Wolves their first points of the evening as he earned a 12-10 overtime decision at the 165-lb. class.  Bowden managed a takedown at the 8:30 mark of the first overtime period to improve to 5-6 overall on the season.  

Cale Cornemann (5-2) took a 13-5 major decision at the 184-lb. class and Northern trailed the Mavericks by just four points, 11-7.  Todd Naaszgave the Wolves a 13-11 lead in the following match at 197 pounds, pinning MSU's Block at the 4:37 mark.  Minnesota State responded with wins in the remaining five matches, including two first period falls, on their way to the 33-13 win.
