Aberdeen, S.D. - Northern comes up short 64-71 in a tightly fought non-conference game on Saturday night against Augustana College at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls. The Wolves trailed by six at the half and were never able to catch up to the Vikings. Northern is now 7-4 overall while Augustana improves to 10-3.
The Wolves were outscored 34-28 in the first half. The Vikings managed to get to the free throw line more frequently than the Wolves, going 10 of 15 while the Wolves went just 2 of 4 from the charity stripe. The second half was much like the first half with both teams going on runs, but the Wolves could never quite catch the Vikings. The Vikings only outscored the Wolves by one point in the second half, 37-36. The Wolves were led by seniors

Noelle Hall led all scorers with 22 points, going ten of twenty from the floor. Hall also grabbed 9 rebounds for the Wolves. Jacyln Arns had 15 points and six assists in 33 minutes. Kim Lewis logged a double-double for the night in points and rebounds with 14 and 13 respectively, both being career highs.
