MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Wolves soccer team pulled off a 1-0 win over MSU Moorhead in double overtime on Saturday afternoon. NSU freshman
Maggie Fedor (MF, Monticello, Minn.) gave the Wolves the game winner to end the game. The Wolves maintain their lead in the NSIC with a 4-0-1 league record. They are 11-3-2 overall. MSUM is now 7-8 overall and 2-2 in the league.
The Wolves and Dragons went through 103 minutes of scoreless soccer before Fedor scored the game winning goal in the second overtime period with an assist from
Summer Swan. The teams were nearly equal in shots taken in the game, with the Wolves taking a slight 27-24 advantage. Northern had 12 shots on goal to MSUM's nine.
Catherine Grace (GK, Jr., Littleton, Colo.) made nine saves in earning her second shutout of the year. She is 3-0-0 in the net this season. Fedor had five shots and four shots on goal in the game. Katherine Bronson was another force in the NSU win with three shots, all of which went on goal.
The Dragons received three shots on goal each from Richelle Ross and Tricia Vanyo. Alison Wanner made 11 saves and gave up the solo goal of the game.
