Jenny Fuller

Jenny Fuller begins her fourth season at the helm of the Northern State softball team in the fall of 2020.

The Wolves went 15-4 in the spring of 2020, prior to the cancellation of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NCAA cancelled spring championship competition, while the NSIC quickly followed cancelling the conference slate. The 15-4 start was the best for Northern State in program history, as the Wolves opened the year on a 10-game win streak. Three single game and career records were broken by the Wolves, including Kennady Thompson becoming the all-time leader in average and RBI.

Northern went 18-34 overall in Fuller's second season at the helm. The Wolves broke six school records in 2019 including single season hits (441), single season home runs (Kennady Thompson – 11), career home runs (Thompson – 17), career pitching appearances (Jamie Fisher – 132), career innings pitched (Fisher – 653.2), and career pitching wins (Fisher – 50), and tied the school record with 33 team home runs. In addition, Thompson earned NSIC All-Conference first team honors.

In her first season at the helm the Wolves went 29-22 overall and 18-10 in the NSIC, earning the fifth seed in the NSIC Tournament. Northern tallied the first opening round tournament victory in school history, going 1-2 overall. Jamie Fisher (first team, gold glove), Courtney Sjerven (first team), and Kennady Thompson (gold glove) were named to the NSIC All-Conference teams, while Fisher tallied Google Cloud Academic All-District(R) honors. Fisher broke four single season school records in 2018 with 42 pitching appearances, 27 complete games thrown, 231.2 innings pitched, and 22 wins. Offensively the Wolves came up just one point shy of tying the single season school record with a .312 team batting average, which was the first season average above .300 in over two decades.

In her two seasons with the Stritch Wolves, Fuller coached eight All-Conference performers, five Academic All-American student-athletes, and one second team All-American honoree. CSU ranked in the top-15 in NAIA Division in six different categories in 2016 and 2017; including No. 14 in batting average (.339), No. 12 in hits per game (9.635), No. 11 in at bats per game (28.442), No. 11 in ERA, and No. 7 in fielding percentage (.986), and No. 7 in opponent batting average (.195). The Wolves finished second in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference and third in the CCAC postseason tournament.

Prior to her work at Stritch, Fuller was the assistant and interim head softball coach, as well as the head cross country coach at NCAA Division III University of Texas at Dallas. A total of four softball student-athletes were named to the All-ASC teams including one first team honoree. Her cross country teams placed second at the American Southwest Conference Championships, recording the highest finish in school history.

Fuller began her collegiate coaching career at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas where she was an assistant softball and pitching coach. In her four years at MCC, Fuller coached two first team All-Conference pitchers, as well as six All-Conference position players and the conference Co-MVP. McLennan advanced to the 2011 National Championships and in 2014 won the Region 5 North Conference Championship finishing with a record of 46-8.
