Terri Holmes begins her 21st year in the fall of 2025 as the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Compliance Coordinator, and Senior Women's Administrator. She spent the first five years of her Northern State career as both the head softball coach and compliance coordinator, before moving into the full time administrative role. Holmes is the NSU sport administrator for volleyball, soccer, track and field/cross country, and men's basketball. 

In addition to her compliance duties, Holmes serves as Northern's Student Athlete Advisory Committee advisor. In 2017-18, she joined the NCAA Championships Committee, which works towards improving the championship experience for all sports at the NCAA Division II level. She has also served a member of the NCAA Festival Committee, NCAA Division II Championships Appeal Subcommittee, and NSIC Membership Advisory Committee. 

She held a spot on the NCAA regional advisory committee for softball from 2012-16 and was a member of the NCAA National Softball Committee in 2015-16. In 2014-15, Terri was selected for the NCAA Leadership Academy workshops. 

In recent years, Holmes has helped develop and grow the Northern State Maroon Tie Banquet and Senior Breakfast. She is also the main liaison for the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota in the preparation and implementation of the annual NSU Day of Champions. In 2019, Holmes was an integral part of the planning and implementation for the NSIC SAAC Summit hosted by Northern State University. The 2021-22 academic year saw Holmes serve as the Interim Athletic Director for the department. 

Holmes earned a B.S. degree in physical education/health/coaching from Black Hills State College. She earned her Masters of Education at National-Louis University in Tampa, FL with a focus on education and counseling.

She enjoys spending her free time on the golf course.
