Burks scored an upset victory over No. 9 Braydon Huber of UMary in a 26-6 dual win. He pinned the redshirt sophomore at 4:29 in the match. Prior to the pin, Burks led 5-4 in the match. The victory by fall gave Northern a 21-0 lead in the dual. He helped NSU to its first NSIC Championship since 2002.
