Amanda Madden (Jr., Herreid, S.D.), fresh off her second All-American performance and runner-up finish in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Championships last month, won the hammer throw at the Wayne State Outdoor Classic on Friday.  Madden’s winning mark of 53.30 meters (174-10) was well-above the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and puts her fifth on the national performance list.  She then went on to finish fourth in the discus (123-4) and fourth in the shot put (40-11.50).
