Hannah Kastigar, a junior out of Aberdeen Central High School, Aberdeen SD, helped score points for the Northern State Wolves in their swimming meet Thursday evening against University of Sioux Falls Cougars. Kastigar beat out competitors in both the 200 yard IM and the 200 yard butterfly, finishing in 2:05.76 and 2:02.92 respectively. The junior’s time in the 200 butterfly was enough to defeat her own school record, set previously this year. Both of the swims were qualifying B times. Kastigar continues to own five school records early in the season. Following the swimming meet Thursday, Kastigar competed for the Wolves on Saturday during the Central Regional Championship cross country meet. Kastigar finished first for the Wolves crossing the line 38th of 211 runners in a time of 21:55.92.
