Hannah Kastigar, a junior out of Aberdeen Central High School, Aberdeen South Dakota, tallied three of Northern State’s seven first place finishes in the meet the Wolves attended in Moorhead, MN on Friday. Kastigar won the 100 yard butterfly in 56.57, the 100 yard free in 53.02 and the 200 yard IM in 2:04.60, recording pool records in each of her three individual events. The junior surpassed her own school record in the 100 yard butterfly and nabbed an additional NSU record in the 200 IM, beating out the 2012 time of 2:10.06. Kastigar received NCAA B Cut times in the 200 yard IM (2:04.60). She continues to own four school records early in the season. Kastigar then proceeded to compete in the NSIC Cross Country Championships for the Wolves Saturday morning in Sioux Falls, SD. She led the Wolves throughout the race and earned a First Team All-Conference place of ninth overall in a competition of 135 runners. The runner crossed the line of the 6k race in 21:12.12. The Wolves tied for eighth overall as a team with Sioux Falls, both scoring a total of 191 points.
