Freshman Jamie Horner batted .500 at the NSIC crossover last weekend, gaining seven hits in 14 at-bats and walking four times. She drilled a homerun to tie the game in the fifth inning against Upper Iowa and helped the Wolves go on to take their first conference win, 5-4 in extra innings. Horner got the Wolves on the board with another solo shot on Saturday against Southwest Minnesota State and marked her third dinger of the weekend, this time a two-run shot, for NSU’s only scores of the game against Winona State on Sunday. On the weekend, Horner had a slugging percentage of 1.214 and an on-base mark of .611. Predominantly holding down the right side of the field at first base, she marked 29 putouts and five assists without an error. She played in and started all seven games on the week and batted .350.
