Barnett hit a national provisional mark and broke the Northern State school record in the javelin. He threw 62.92m at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite to open the season. The sophomore took second place as the top NCAA Division II finisher. The South Dakota native currently ranks 14th in the country in the event, as well as first in the NSIC.
