Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head softball coach
Kristi Villar has resigned her post to pursue other career opportunities. Villar, the 2015 NSIC Coach of the Year, spent seven seasons with the Wolves, compiling a career record of 160-188-1.
"We want to thank Coach Villar for her hard work building and elevating NSU softball over the past seven years," noted
Josh Moon, NSU Director of Athletics. "We wish her all the best in her next step. Our team, led by
Terri Holmes, will work quickly to ensure we have the best possible leader for Wolves softball moving forward, so that we can continue our climb to the top of the NSIC."
In her seven seasons with the Wolves, Villar led the program to four NSIC Conference Tournament appearances, including their first appearance in 2012 following the 8-team qualification system. She coached seven All-Conference student-athletes for the Wolves, and broke nine single season school records as a team.
The national search for Villar's replacement will begin immediately.
