Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's and women's basketball teams have released their 2017-18 season schedules. In addition to the 22 game NSIC schedule the Wolves will play six non-conference games for both the men and women including 16 home dates in 2017-18. New for the Wolves in 2017-18 is a revised NSIC schedule featuring the league opener in December versus the traditional match-up on Thanksgiving weekend. The revision stems from the need to play in-region games prior to the conference season. Pushing the opener back allows teams the flexibility to play both in-region and Division II opponents in that timeframe.
 
The Northern State women will open the 2017-18 season at home on November 7^th with an exhibition game against Dakota Wesleyan. They will then head to Kansas City and the Conference Challenge for a pair of games against Washburn and Harding University on November 10-11. The Wolves return home on November 13^th against Texas A&M International, before playing in their final non-conference tournament of the season November 17-18 against CSU Pueblo and Westminster.
 
The Northern State men will open the 2017-18 season just a few short days after at the Missouri Western Classic with two games slated for November 10-12 against the defending national champions, Northwest Missouri State, and Washburn. NSU remains on the road November 15^th for their annual non-conference match-up with the Mustangs of Southwest Minnesota State. The Wolves make their Wachs Arena debut November 17^th and 20^th against Jamestown and Black Hills State prior to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The Wolves will hit the road November 21-26^th as they travel to Puerto Rico. Northern will face three NCAA Division II opponents on the trip which will be announced at a later date. The two teams will then open the NSIC regular season on the road at Minot State and the University of Mary to open the month of December. Northern quickly returns home for their final non-conference match-up of the season with a doubleheader against Presentation College on December 4^th. NSU will remain at home through the middle of the month facing off against Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston on the 8^th and 9^th, and MSU Moorhead on the 15^th. The Wolves will round out 2017 on the road at MSU Moorhead on the 19^th, and Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State on the 30^th and 31^st.
 
Northern opens 2018 with back-to-back home weekends against the University of Mary and Minot State on the 5^th and 6^th, and Wayne State and Augustana on the 12^th and 13^th. The following weekend slates NSU against St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth on the road, before returning home to close out the month for the annual I Hate Winter festivities against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State on the 26^th and 27^th.
 
The month of February opens with the Wolves on the road for four games against Upper Iowa and Winona State on the 2^nd and 3^rd, and Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State on the 9^th and 10^th. NSU will then close out the regular season from Wachs Arena on the 16^th and 17^th against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.

All NSIC contests will be scheduled for 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday and 4 and 6 p.m. on Saturday with the women's game followed by the men's game unless otherwise noted.
