Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head volleyball coach,
Brent Aldridge announced the promotion of
Lindsey Partridge to assistant coach for the 2017 season. Partridge spent the last eight months as the Wolves graduate assistant coach.
"I am very excited to have Lindsey beside me on the bench full time," explained Aldridge. "She has proven herself in the short amount of time that she has been with me. Lindsey is very eager to learn, works hard, is organized and maybe the best thing is that she is a great person who shares the same core values as I do. We have much work to do and I look forward to sharing that journey with Lindsey and all of our Wolves volleyball family."
Partridge joined the Wolves in the fall of 2016 as a graduate assistant coach while also working on her master's degree through NSU. The Wolves went 16-12 overall and 9-11 in her first season with the program, however remained ranked in the AVCA Top-25 throughout the year including a No. 21 final ranking. As the Wolves assistant coach, she will work with the Northern State defensive scheme and middle hitters. In addition to her on court duties, Partridge will assume the role of recruiting coordinator for the program.
"I knew when I interviewed for the GA position that I would learn a lot about volleyball and coaching [from Aldridge]," noted Partridge. "Northern has a very good volleyball program in a difficult conference. It's competitive."
In the off season, Partridge began working with the North East South Dakota Junior Olympic 16u team based in Aberdeen. In her first two tournaments with NESD Red, the girls finished first and second overall.
"Coach Aldridge is one of the best and I've already learned so much from him. He gave me a chance when he hired me as the GA and I'm incredibly grateful that he trusts me with the responsibility of now being his assistant. In the past 8 months, I've grown to love the girls on the team, the school, and the town. I feel very blessed to be a part of what Brent has built here at Northern."
Partridge played collegiately at Missouri Western State University. With the Griffons, Partridge appeared in 98 matches and 331 sets. She recorded 477 career kills, while hitting .219, and add 260 blocks. As a senior she notched a career high 190 kills and was named to the All-MIAA Honorable Mention team. She was also a 4-year member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Partridge also spent the past two years coaching at the 14u club level. She graduated from MWSU with a bachelor's degree in elementary education in May of 2016.
The Savannah, Missouri native is working towards her master's degree in Sports Performance and Leadership at Northern State. Partridge will move into her new role beginning May 8.
