Four Wolves Named to All-Conference, Snyder Named Freshman of the Year

Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released Thursday the 2017 volleyball all-conference teams, with the Wolves landing four first teamers as well as the NSIC Freshman of the Year in Laura Snyder. Snyder was also named to the first team, alongside Hailey Busch, Ashley Rozell, and Jenna Reiff.
 
Snyder led the Wolves in conference play this season with 195 kills, averaging 3.10 per set. She holds a team leading and NSIC second best .398 attack percentage in league action. Snyder ranks 14th in the nation in season attack percentage, hitting .382. She notched a career high 20 kills against Upper Iowa, and a career high .733 attack percentage against U-Mary. The freshman is second on the team with 246 kills this season, while adding 36 assists, 11 aces, 65 digs, and 44 blocks. She is the first Northern Wolf in school history to earn the NSIC Freshman of the Year honor.
 
Busch leads the team in 2017 with 287 kills, averaging 4.10 per set which ranks 22nd nationally. The junior holds 178 kills in NSIC play, averaging a league third best 4.14 per set. She is hitting .293 on the year, while adding five assists, 19 service aces, and 30 blocks. Busch is third on the team defensively with 193 total digs, and 128 of those come in NSIC contests. She has five double-doubles this season with a season high 23 kills against CSU San Bernardino and season high 20 digs against Southwest Minnesota State. The all-conference honor is the first of her career.
 
Rozell has been the motor that drives the NSU offense this season, pacing the Wolves to a team attack percentage of .295. The sophomore has accumulated 1,068 total assists, averaging 11.87 per set. She currently ranks seventh in assists per set and 30th in total assists nationally. Rozell is third in the NSIC in league games averaging 12.16 assists per set, and fifth with 25 total aces. The Wolves ace notched a season high 60 assists versus the No. 1 Golden Bears on the road. She leads the Wolves with 49 total aces, averaging 0.54 which ranks her 12th in aces per set and 18th in total aces nationally. Rozell has added 47 kills, 48 blocks, and a team third best 193 digs this season. The all-conference honor is the first of her career.
 
Reiff has taken her transition to the middle this season in stride notching a team third best 244 kills. She is hitting a team second best .324 this season and .338 in NSIC games ranking her 13th in the league. The sophomore leads the team at the net with 94 total blocks, averaging just over one per set. She is fourth in the NSIC against league opponents averaging 1.06 blocks per set. Reiff tallied season high hitting percentages against U-Mary (.800) and St. Cloud State (.789) ranking her 28th in 10-14 attempt matches and 11th in 15-19 attempt matches nationally. She has also recorded five assists, three aces, and 41 digs. The all-conference honor is the first of her career.
