Volleyball Adds Seven in Powerful Signing Class

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University Head Coach Brent Aldridge announced the signing of seven student-athletes for the 2018 season. Kamryn D'Heilly (Annandale, Minn.), Peyton Ellingson (Warner, S.D.), Sally Gaul (Des Moines, Iowa), Bryanna Goar (Champlin, Minn.), Olivia Rud (Madison, S.D.), Halle Uehran (Pingree, N.D.) and Brooklin Vinatieri (Sioux Falls, S.D.) will join the Wolves next fall.

"To say that I am excited about this 2018 recruiting class is an understatement," explained Aldridge. "We had some needs that we needed to address and I think that we have done just that. The first thing we did is identify some very physical athletes that have the ability to play at a high level vertically with the hitters that we are bringing in. We also addressed the fact that we need to bring in hitters that have the ability to terminate. Four of these players have over 1,000 kills in their career on varsity and another that has over 5oo kills in two years at the varsity level."

"The other area we addressed is the ability to dig balls and serve receive at a high level. Both of our incoming back row players have the competitive nature that we look for when playing floor defense. The main goal is to raise the level of competitive nature in our gym and the 2018 class has done just that.  This has been a 2-3-4 year recruiting process with some of these players, so to have the signing day finally come after so long it is a bit of a relief."

"I feel like we have players in this class that will push our current players not only in practice but also for playing time next fall.  That is how you keep raising the level of your program.  Wolves volleyball is in a good spot now and with continue to be in the future."
